Spherical One-Way Wave Equation

چکیده
The coordinate-free one-way wave equation is transferred in spherical coordinates. Therefore it necessary to achieve consistency between gradient, divergence and Laplace operators establish, beside the conventional radial Nabla operator ∂Φ/∂r, a new variant ∂rΦ/r∂r. two variants differ near field term Φ/r whereas far r≫0 there asymptotic approximation. Surprisingly, more complicated gradient ∂rΦ/r∂r results unexpected simplifications for – only waves with 1/r amplitude decrease. Thus calculation always remains elementary without wattless imaginary fields, Bessel functions are obsolete.

One-way Wave Equation Modeling in Two-way Wave Propagation Problems
The exact, well-posed, one-way reformulation of Helmholtz-type wave equations and the generalized Bremmer coupling series are applied to the two-way, scalar, multidimensional Helmholtz equation of mathematical physics. These two constructions provide complementary ways of incorporating one-way wave equation modeling into two-way wave propagation problems. The mathematical framework, for the exp...

S U M M A R Y It is now widely accepted that elastic properties of the continental lithosphere and the underlying sublithospheric mantle are both anisotropic and laterally heterogeneous at a range of scales. To fully exploit modern three-component broad-band array data sets requires the use of comprehensive modelling tools. In this work, we investigate the use of a wide-angle, one-way wave equa...
متن کاملTrue Amplitude Wave Equation Migration Arising from True Amplitude One-way Wave Equations
One-way wave operators are powerful tools for forward modeling and inversion. Their implementation, however, involves introduction of the square-root of an operator as a pseudo-differential operator. Furthermore, a simple factoring of the wave operator produces one-way wave equations that yield the same traveltimes of the full wave equation, but does not yield accurate amplitudes except for hom...

متن کاملWide-angle one-way wave equations.
A one-way wave equation, also known as a paraxial or parabolic wave equation, is a differential equation that permits wave propagation in certain directions only. Such equations are used regularly in underwater acoustics, in geophysics, and as energy-absorbing numerical boundary conditions. The design of a one-way wave equation is connected with the approximation of (1-s2)1/2 on [-1,1] by a rat...
